TITLE
Assessment in Math and Science: What's the Point? Workshop 4. I Didn't Know This Was an English Class!: Connections Across the Disciplines

CLIP DESCRIPTION
This clip shows a discussion of an activity which makes a connection between math and science: students launch metal spheres from different heights on a ramp. The students plot the relationship between the height and the distance the spheres travel. The students are given a new height and asked to predict how far the ball will travel.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
One measure of students' depth of understanding is the connections they can make across disciplines. This workshop explores how teachers can encourage these connections by designing performance tasks that build on other disciplines. Content Guide: Monica Neagoy.
