The Harvard-Smithsonian Digital Video Library is no longer in service.

For ten years starting in 2004, the Harvard-Smithsonian Digital Video Library was a professional development resource for science teachers, grades K-12, centered on a database of video clips indexed using the AAAS Science Benchmarks.

With funding from the National Science Foundation (DUE-0226354), 350 hours of video content was licensed from CfA Science Education Department video productions and from materials sponsored by the Annenberg Foundation.

Many of the clips are still available at Annenberg Learner.

From time to time, content from the Digital Video Library is removed from Annenberg Learner; most of the programs will continue to be available on the CfA K-12 Professional Development page.

Finally, a long-term archive of CfA Science Education Department videos is maintained at the Smithsonian Institution Archives. Selected programs may also be available through inter-library loan. Check with your local library.
